Magical 7-Day Morocco Tour From Marrakech

After breakfast in your riad, You will be traveling from Marrakech to Ait Benhaddou to Ouarzazate to Skoura to the Rose Valley to Dades Gorge. This will be a long but rewarding day, as you will get to see some of the most beautiful and iconic sights in the country. You will begin your day from Marrakech as you start traveling to Ouarzazate via the Tizi Pass. The mountain range of the High Atlas Mountains of the Tichka Pass will give you a great sightseeing drive. There is no other tourist journey where you get such an amazing and exceptional perspective. The road trip will lead you to some unbelievable spots where you can smell the fine air, take fantastic pictures, and get wonderful video footage for memories. First, you’ll head to Telouet, the Kasbah of Telouet which sits in Telaoute town inside the Onilla Valley. It is considered a favorite destination among Moroccan travelers. It’s said that 1000 people lived in its walls in the 10th century. Five wives and 80 concubines are claimed to occupy it. Pacha Glaoui reportedly extorted and collected fees for trade caravans coming over the Atlas Mountains. When you walk inside the palace it’s very edifying to see the comparison of what it resembles outside the Harem at El Glaoui’s palace as compared to the entry of the palace. The doors of the Harem and foyers offer a good idea of the luxurious lifestyle that El Glaoui favored, along with a taste of Andalusian décor. Though the oldest sections of the Kasbah are completely destroyed, walking through the mazelike corridors is incredibly challenging. In the Kasbah, the wind blowing through broken ruins makes it difficult to vaguely navigate at all. From here, you will make your way to the historic city of Ait Benhaddou. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a must-see, with its traditional earthen buildings and stunning location atop a hill. After Ait Benhaddou, you will continue on to Ouarzazate. This city is often referred to as the “Hollywood of Morocco”, as it has been the filming location for many movies and TV shows over the years. Some of the most famous films that have been shot here include Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, and Game of Thrones. Your next stop will be Skoura, where you will visit the Valley of the Roses. This valley is home to the world-famous Moroccan rose, which is used to make rose water and essential oils. The valley is absolutely stunning, with miles upon miles of rose fields stretching out before you. After Skoura, you will make your way to Dades Gorge. This gorge is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Morocco, and it’s easy to see why. The gorge is full of winding roads and stunning views. Be sure to take plenty of photos!

After a hearty breakfast, turn back within the valley to see the wonderful rock formation called “the monkey toes”, and the Kasbah of Ait Yul, a 19th-century kasbah. Then we leave the Dades valley towards Tinghir and the Todra gorges you’ll see the scenic landscapes of the old clay Berber villages overlooking the canyon. Arriving at the Todra Gorges you’ll step following the 300m high red cliff, where many rock-climbers visit to experience their preferred sport. Continuing our trip to Erfoud where we’ll have lunch and afterward, we’ll leave to the magnificent sand dunes of Erg Chebbi in Merzouga. Once there, an experienced Camel man will be waiting for us, to start the camel ride and explore inside the magical wavy sand dunes of the Erg-Chebbi. You will have a stop to relax, inspire the sunset, and do sandboarding. Your luggage will be transported by car to the camp. You also have the option of going to the camp by car instead of riding a camel, if you prefer. Afterward, before spending the night under the stars in an equipped desert camp, at a traditional Berber-style nomad tent. You will have a delicious dinner and a music party around the fire.

After breakfast, we will leave via Rissani, where you will stop to visit the local Souk (market). After that, we continue through the vast Ziz valley that contains millions of palm trees all the way to Errachidia. Further, we drive on crossing the Ziz gorges and then the Middle Atlas Mountains with their beautiful views. Thereafter, we will stop in Midelt for lunch. After lunch, we will head to Fes crossing the cedar forest of Azrou. Clearly, the largest one in Morocco; stopping for photos with the Barbary monkeys. Then continue to visit Ifrane referred to as the “small Switzerland of Morocco” because of its European shape of buildings; we arrive in Fes by afternoon. Finally, check in the riad. the third night of Our 7 Days from Marrakech.

We will do sightseeing in the cultural and religious capital of the Kingdom. You will plunge into the magical atmosphere of a medieval oriental city, walk along the crooked and narrow streets of the ancient Medina, and get acquainted with the numerous historical and architectural monuments that adorned the former capital of the Kingdom of the Sultans from the Merinid and Alaouite dynasties. Most of these monuments are excellent examples of the Moorish architectural style. You will visit the Bu Inanya mosque, see the madrassas (Muslim universities), Nejarin square, and the fountain. you will find yourself in the handicraft quarters, where leather and pottery craftsmen work according to the technology they inherited from their grandfathers and great-grandfathers, whose secrets are carefully transferred from generation to generation. Then we will continue to the Jewish quarter that is still present now. It shows the co-existence of the 2 communities, Muslims and Jewish, Finally, return to your Riad

Departing Fes this morning we visit the fascinating UNESCO listed Roman ruins of Volubilis, which date back to AD40 and we will continue the road to Chefchaouen through the Rif Mountains to enjoy the views of the Magic Mountains till we get Chefchaouen one of the stunning villages in the feet of Rif Mountains. As well as, to the medina has a Spanish style. You will have time all the evening to visit the blue city. It is a city located in the Rif Mountains, north-west of Morocco. It is famous for the remarkable buildings of different tones of faded blue of its old town. Leather and weaving workshops line its steep cobbled alleys. In the shaded central square of Outa el Hammam is the Kasbah with red walls, fortress and keep of the fifteenth century with ethnographic and artistic exhibitions. The octagonal minaret of the Great Mosque rises not far from there, overnight in Chefchaouen.

After breakfast, you will drive towards the capital city of Morocco, Rabat, on the shores of the Atlantic. This Moroccan city of Rabat has an old, walled medina that’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Next, you will see Oudaya Kasbah and its beautiful gardens, with explanations on the history of Rabat, its corsair days, and the consequent first international recognition of the independence of the United States by Sultan Sidi Mohamed ben Abdellah. Also a stop at the Mohamed V Mausoleum and Hassan Tower which is the minaret of an incomplete mosque in Rabat constructed in 1195 AD. It was intended to be the largest minaret in the world with a mosque. If time allows, you can depart for the Chellah fortress to see its Roman remains and the intricate necropolis of the 14th Century Merinid Dynasty. From there, you will head to the Museum of History and Mediterranean Civilization and then to the new Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, a magnificent structure of neo-Moorish architecture. After that, you will leave Rabat, the political capital of Morocco, for the economic capital; Casablanca, After a hectic day, you get a Drop off at your hotel.

On this last day of our tour After Breakfast at the hotel ,We will take a tour of the city Casablanca and we’ll visit Hassan 2 the second largest mosque in the world especially its location above the ocean this is one of the great achievement of morocco architecture. We will take a tour of the city and then we will head to Marrakech. After 3 hours driving you will get to Marrakech where you will have free time to visit the authentic city of Marrakech, For see the most important sites of historical and cultural interest, including the Majorelle Gardens, the Koutoubia Tower, the Saadian tombs, the Bahia Palace. The last day of our 07 days tour from Marrakech depends on your flight details. As mentioned, you can end this tour whether in Marrakech or Casablanca. If you fly in the evening, we would spend more time discovering other sites in Marrakech.
