4 Days Tour from Marrakech to Fes

The first journey of the 4-day desert tour from Marrakech to Fes begins as we leave Marrakech and cross the High Atlas Mountains through the Tizi N'Tichka pass, which stands at an altitude of 2,260 meters. Our next stop is the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, an old and fortified village known for its beautiful Kasbahs. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a perfect synthesis of the earthen architecture of the pre-Saharan regions of Morocco. After lunch, we will head toward Boumalne Dades, passing through Ouarzazate which is home to several film studios and is often referred to as the 'Hollywood of Africa', the Palm Grove of Skoura, and the beautiful Roses Valley.

After breakfast, the trip continues to Tinghir and the Todra Gorges where you can take a short walk to appreciate the steep sides of the gorge. From there, we will head to the Erg Chebbi dunes, passing through Tinjdad, the Oasis of Tafilalet near Erfoud, and Rissani. Here, you will join the caravan of camel trek across the high sand dunes of the Erg Chebbi desert. You will enjoy the beautiful view of the sunset from a high dune before riding the camels to your desert camp for the night. After dinner, listen to Berber music played by local nomads under the stars.

After enjoying the beautiful desert sunrise, we begin our exciting desert excursion exploring the Erg Chebbi region. We will drive off-road to visit the nomadic families living around the sand dunes, giving you a chance to observe their unique lifestyle. Next, we visit the M'Fis mines on a high plateau offering panoramic views of Erg Chebbi. We then head to Khamlia Village, also known as Gnaoua Village, where you'll learn about their culture and enjoy traditional music. After lunch (Berber pizza), we return to Merzouga.

Today, after breakfast, we start our journey to Fes. We leave the desert and travel toward Rissani, once a major stopping point along the Saharan caravan route. We will have lunch in Midelt, a town famous for its minerals and apples, while enjoying panoramic views of the stunning Ziz Valley. Next, we continue to Michlifan to see the Barbary macaques and the beautiful cedar forest. In the late evening, we reach the city of Fes by crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains, where the tour concludes.
